Skanska launched sales of 179 flats in the Vysočanska district of Prague 9 where it’s building the second phase of the residential project Alfred. This phase is designed to meet strict environmental criteria and will incorporate solar energy and modern rain water management techniques. Construction is due to begin last this year and won’t complete until 2025. Skanska says it’s targeting young couples, individuals and investors with prices that start at CZK 119,200 per square meter – that’s significantly below the Prague average for new units. The 10-storey building will offer primarily 1- and 2-bedroom units as well as several loft-style apartments. Skanska Reality’s Green Business Manager Miroslav Kobera said the energy produced by solar panels on the building should suffice for lighting its public areas and to power the ventilation system. Collected rainwater can be used by the owners of private gardens. The entire Vysočanska neighborhood in Prague 9 is undergoing transformation, with several major developments underway including the neighboring Pragovka project (currently moving through planning) and that of AFI Europe.
