AFI City 1 in Vysočany now fully occupied

Hegelmann Transporte’s decision to make AFI City 1 its Czech headquarters means that the 17,300 sqm office building overlooking the growing Vysočany district is now 100% occupied. The German family-owned company has grown into a global player since its founding in 1998, but it specializes in the Central European market. It’s taken nearly 1,900 sqm of space in AFI City 1 on two floors.

The deal follows another one with the self-service restaurant Delirest, with the Czech interior design company Nüssli and with the French pharmaceutical Pierre Fabre. Škoda Auto also exercised an option to expand its existing lease. The Czech auto giant’s footprint in the building eventually expanded to nine floors. Its space includes coworking space, which the company hopes will help drive new synergies between employees.

“Putting together this mix of tenants at AFI City 1 was exciting but challenging,” said AFI Europe’s asset manager Kateřina Holická. “The opportunity to work with such important partners has enabled us to strengthen the prestige and diversity of our administrative center.”

The 75-meter high rise is a dominant landmark for this rapidly expanding brownfield district near the Kolbenova metro station. It’s achieved a BREEAM Excellent certification, offering underground parking, retail space and bike-friendly facilities. AFI Europe has already built apartment buildings on its 15 ha plot.
