Concens Investments has begun construction on the third phase of Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park (OAMP) near Leoš Janáček Airport in Mošnov. BMW Group will use the facility as an overseas logistics center following a long-term lease agreement.
“This location is unique not only for its position but also for its combination of air, truck and rail cargo transportation,” said Tomáš Novotný, director of Concens Investments. “Construction on the three logistics halls will continue until Q1 2026.”
Of course, the project’s significance goes beyond the square meters of new industrial stock. At a time when Europe’s automobile sector is searching for a new business model, the project sends an important signal.
“The growing importance of the Czech Republic for BMW Group is very encouraging,” said Maciej Galant, General Manager of BMW Czech Republic. “In addition to our Future Mobility Development Center near Sokolov, we will create a unique logistics center in Ostrava.”
Concens Investments has been active in Mošnov since 2018, with the first phase delivering 138,000 sqm of industrial space. The second phase, launched in spring 2024, adds 120,000 sqm across four buildings.
The third phase will be built on a 513,000 sqm plot that Concens purchased from the city of Ostrava last year. A fourth phase is already planned, potentially bringing the total leasable commercial space to over 550,000 sqm in coming years.
New industrial stock has been in short supply recently. Just 106,700 sqm was delivered to the Czech market in Q4 2024. That’s the lowest result in the last three years. Last year’s 517,900 sqm of new supply was 45% off the pace set in 2023. The country’s total stock currently stands 12.28 million sqm.
