Prologis extended its lease with Dr. Max for 6,300 sqm of logistics space at Prologis Park Prague-Rudná west of the capital. The facility serves as Dr. Max’s specialized e-commerce fulfillment center.
Online pharmaceutical market has become one of Czech retail’s fastest-growing segments. According to IQVIA, the combined market for OTC medicines, supplements, and consumer health products reached CZK 21.3 billion in 2024, with e-commerce forming a substantial share of growth. Categories like vitamins and supplements—consumed at least occasionally by most Czech consumers—saw particularly strong double-digit online growth during the pandemic that has largely sustained.
“With rising online orders and customer expectations for fast delivery, we need logistics spaces that let us respond adequately while maintaining capacity reserves,” said Jan Žák, Dr. Max’s CEO. The park’s proximity to Prague and direct D5 highway access provides crucial connectivity for time-sensitive e-commerce operations.
The facility in Rudná used advanced automation (including a pair of Kardex storage systems and a steel mezzanine) to maximize picking efficiency and space utilization.
Martin Čihák, Prologis Czech Republic’s leasing manager, says the use of Kardex automation “shows how companies can significantly increase efficiency within existing spaces.”
